5 day death build

5 day death build - 5 days, 3.27 hp kawasaki gokart motor, micargi royal modified frame. An almost impossible task to get a newly designed motorbike ready for the shiny side up Behind bars show in san jose ca in 5 days. These were uncharted terrirtories for us. Customizing a frame dealing with a stretch frame and taking an old engine and getting it to work in this new setup. However with due diligence, and creative thinking we built our first stretch cruiser in imperial style. From chopping the micargi royal frame's top tube and bottom tube to have a gooseneck and more rack to creating a custom engine mount and getting it started this build seemed to be overwelming from the start. This is not fully finished yet but we are close to the finishing stages. video

Customer Build

Another customer of ours Ashley Caviness just built another boardtracker using our boardtracker tank. The bike looks awesome, and it really has smooth and sleak lines while still keeping that vintage look. Enjoy.

A customer does it himself

Customer David Reynoso of Santa Barbara built this awesome rat rod style bike utilizing one our board tracker tanks. The tank really sets off the bike giving it a more aggressive look to it. Awesome job.

Stretched cruiser frame motorbike concept

It's 11:50pm tired from work but still got some things in my head I want out so I was just doodling around and came up a new design. The stretched cruiser concept. For people who are much taller and want to have a more low seating stance this bike is perfect. Styled after the Midnight model this bike brings a totally new look.

Gonzy

With work slowing down it seems finally I have some time to reflect and search the infinite internets for weird, inspiring, boner making images, videos, or blogs. On this blog - http://ohoh2.blogspot.com, I found the above image. you just gotta love the gonz; who skates with a grey suite and pastel shirt (miami vice).

Which makes me think of a song lyric that goes:

"Make a point of having fun
It'll help you get through life
"Life sucks and love is dumb"
Golly, that's a real lie

Australia Order Update

The last two bikes of the updated order for Australia. So, 6 total beautiful bikes. Its a shame to see them go and it was an adventure to build them. These builds incorporated a lot of new bike hardware that we haven't used before like front drum brakes, disk brakes, wide cranks, rear dropout style chain tensioners. Which overall gave a more clean bike with better aesthetics and functionality. Test riding these bikes and making sure they are working properly was a real treat especially the 4 stroke bullet bike. The thinner tires, aluminum mag rims, the grubee 4 stroke with a 5 to 1 gear ratio made it seem to glide and cut corners quite properly. A metal beast indeed. Check out the pictures I apologize in advance for the poor quality, I lost the charger for my D-40 camera but as soon as I get it I will put up better pics.

Behind The Bars Build

Imperial Cycles is a Sponsor for the upcoming Behind The Bars Show this June 13th at Trailhead Cyclery in San Jose which means we get to enter 4 bikes. Here's one. Not too much to look at but trust me, it's getting there. It's fun racking my brain on how to make everything work and fit properly. Went from plan A, to B, to C and now I think I'm at plan Q. Started out as WCC bike which I started to chop to give it a digger style rake. Turns out that it shrank the bike dramatically so I went back to the drawing board in my head. Right now, I hopefully have everything figured out and did some test bends. Everything looks good so far. Hope it stays this smooth here on out. If not, I'm gonna be making up some new letters for my plans soon.
